Healing and curing. We know they aren’t the same word, but—God,
we want them to be, don’t we?
I was having a discussion with one of my students in Greece the other day about this very thing. It’s easy talking about the difference. Curing means to get rid of the disease. Healing, you may or may not get rid of the disease, but you get the ease, connection, and the knowing. In one, you get to keep your body for now, and in the other, you may or may not keep your body. Yet…
It is so much more profound. We want all those we love to be cured. Trust me. It was the journey with my daughter that taught me firsthand the profound difference between these two.
Yet, the truth is, healing is the profound doorway of surrender.Healing allows you to bow and let go, and, yes, this takes boatloads of courage.
What in your life needs to be healed right now?
A perception, a belief, a feeling towards a person, a blame, a disease, a loss?
We all get to heal on different levels all the time.
Every time we get upset or angry or freaked out, it is showing us something that is awaiting healing, forgiveness, surrender of a perception, a grievance, or a belief.
Trust me, this world is giving us myriad chances to heal right now.
How can we listen to those who feel and think another way?
It may take patience, openness, and inquisitiveness to listen to what you feel you don’t believe in, but it will heal you of the biggest grievance and separation—the them and us.
I wanted to share this poem that blew in about remembering—being in that timeless space with my daughter. Both birth and death are timeless. You can’t hurry or stop either, but youcan heal.
